Is it normal to have even more pain when applying Anusol for external hemorrhoids? Do you suggest another brand?

Hello,
To help me answer your question:
  • What type of Anusol have you tried, the regular Anusol (red tube) or the Anusol plus (blue tube)?
  • Are your hemorrhoids bleeding or cracking?

The blue
No cracks and no bleeding

Anusol plus (blue tube) contains lidocaine which is an ingredient that often causes allergic reactions on the skin. This ingredient is not found in the regular Anusol (red tube) or Preparation H ointment or cream. If your hemorrhoids are very swollen, you may want to try Preparation H Gel (with PE) which contains a vasoconstrictor ingredient that helps to relieve swelling.
Hope to see you soon,
