Can I give BioGaia to my 7 week old baby beyond 21 days for colic?

For medical reasons, I can't breastfeed. So the baby takes Enfamil. BioGaia works very well, but it says in the directions for use to consult a doctor before continuing beyond 21 days. So I stopped giving it to her until her doctor's appointment on November 16. However, the colic quickly returned - and in full force!
