Can a pharmacist prescribe me something for heavy discharge?

Hello, I have a heavy vaginal discharge, it smells like vinegar, I have pain in my vagina. I have tried treatments against fungus, but it did not work. With what I've read I would have vaginosis. Could a pharmacist give me something to relieve me? For example canes balance or do I need a doctor to prescribe it? Thank you for your help.

My discharge is white/greyish and creamy.

Unfortunately, the signs and symptoms you have listed may require another treatment that can only be prescribed by a physician
The CanesBalance may not be effective in this case. I suggest you contact your family doctor (if you have one!) or a walk-in clinic in the next few days. Do you need pain relief? Are you taking any medications? Please feel free to contact me here if you have any other questions! Have a good day, Michael

Great, and yes, while I'm waiting for the doctor, is there anything I can take over the counter to reduce the burning sensation? Do you think it's vaginosis?

I have no allergies and do not take any medication

It is also important to know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding... In all cases, you could try taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) 500 to 1000mg (1 to 2 extra strength tablets). If this offers relief you could repeat this dose every 4 hours (if 1 tablet) or 6 hours (if 2 tablets) as needed. If acetaminophen does not work and you are not pregnant, I suggest you try ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin - 200 or 400mg or 1 or 2 200mg tablets). If the ibuprofen works, the doses can be repeated every 6 to 8 hours, while eating of course so as not to irritate the stomach. Be aware that the relief of vaginal burning may be modest with these treatments, but they can certainly be tried while waiting to see the doctor, who will be able to confirm whether or not it is indeed vaginosis and start treatment if necessary. It is therefore very important to consult him! With pleasure, Michael Cardinal
