My baby has scabs behind his ears. I clean his ears every day. Behind the ears, the scabs come off and it smells bad. What do I do?

Good morning!
How long has this problem been present? When you say you wash her ears, do you mean inside or outside?
It is common for babies under 6 months of age to have yellowish scabs with redness, in the hair, that can go all the way to the back of the ears. I refer you to this site which might shed some light on this. In regards to the smell, if it doesn't go away in 2-4 weeks or if it gets worse, it would be important to go see the pediatrician, as this could be a sign of infection.
For the scabs, a mild "tearless" baby shampoo is used, which should soften the scabs so it will be easier to remove with a soft hairbrush.
I hope this answers your question.

Hello, this problem has been there for a few weeks. I thought it would go away, but it hasn't. I wash his ears inside and out with a small washcloth (the inside I don't get into).

All right, so I would try washing with a mild baby soap each day for about 10 minutes, then gently remove the scabs afterwards.
If it doesn't get better and the smell remains in 2-4 weeks, I would recommend going to her pediatrician!
Have a great day and don't hesitate to get back to us if there is anything!
