My 5 month old baby has pimples on his neck?

Hi, my baby is 5 months old and we started oatmeal this morning. She is exclusively breastfed and this is her first solid food. She also has eczema all over her body since she was 2 months old. In the late afternoon, I noticed several pimples on her neck and chin, is it possible that this is an allergic reaction to the oats? Should we continue to give her oatmeal to see if it is that or eczema or because of her saliva? She has 2 teeth that broke through last week. She has also been very irritable all day. Thank you

Hello, thank you for your question!
The only way to know if oats are the cause is to give him some more. I suggest a very small amount of this food, with the regular liquid you give him (milk or water). This will help you assess if the cereal is really the cause. This would be extremely rare.
The appearance of pimples in this area is not abnormal. You mention teething, this can stimulate salivation, and saliva can cause this type of rash on the neck and chin. A moisturizer can help, and avoid 'rubbing' the area with a towel or bib as this can increase the redness.
I hope I've reassured you, and I'm available if you have any other questions!
