My 17 month old baby just broke out in hives + rash after eating peanut butter? Should he have an epipen? Benadryl?

He has severe eczema, he eats with his hands and after ingestion his hands became red, almost purple. He scratched himself a lot and hives started to appear all over his body. NOTHING ON HIS FACE. His eczema patches also reddened. Is the epipen free or reimbursed by the RAMQ? Is a prescription required?

Hello Ma'am,
Of course, it's best not to re-export him to peanuts at this time.
For the Benadryl™, you could indeed get some (syrup). For Epipen™, it's also a good idea if you think you're having trouble controlling the food he may touch (e.g., at the family's house). The pharmacist can prescribe it for you and it should be reimbursed.
Happy day,
Alexander
