Can you breastfeed her 1 month old baby after a cipralex medication error?

Took her cipralex 30mg in the usual way around 1pm, and took another ed30mg tablet by mistake around 11pm. Exclusive breastfeeding of her baby.

Hello!
No problem to continue breastfeeding. The use of Cipralex is well documented during breastfeeding and is safe. However, at 30mg, do you mean Citalopram (Celexa). It is also safe to use. Baby is exposed to a small amount of the drug, even if the dose is higher due to the error. Since this only happened once, I'm not worried.
You could skip your 1pm dose for today and resume tomorrow as usual.
However, I am more concerned about the mother because the dose is supra-therapeutic.
Do you have any side effects?

Hello,
Thank you for the answer. I have not noticed any side effects so far. I have been taking this medication for several years to manage an anxiety disorder. I still fall asleep but I breastfeed a one month old baby several times a night so I think it's more related to that. The fact that there was a little over 10 hours between the two doses may have helped as well.
Thank you!
