What if I feel nauseous after taking Micronor?

26-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, My last baby was 10 months old. I've been trying to take the micronor pill for several times now, but every time I take one of these pills, I get very nauseous. I am also lactose intolerant since many years. I would like to know if this is normal or if you have anything else to advise me. I am planning to stop breastfeeding soon if this can help.

Hello,
First of all, the lactose content of the medication is so low that it should not cause you any digestive problems.
Nausea can be a side effect of the Micronor pill. Nausea usually goes away within the first 3 months of use
You can also take the pill with food or take it at bedtime to reduce nausea.
There are other safe methods for breastfeeding women: IUD, implant, injection. Usually, nausea is more frequent with estrogen-based contraceptives. Your pharmacist can discuss this with you and suggest another option to your doctor.
Have a good day,
Chloe
